As The Venture's first manager, Maaeten grew the adventure playground during its first formative years from an unofficial rubbish tip into a thriving community landmark, both physically and culturally at the heart of Caia Park.

 

Known as “Catty” to generations of children (short for Catweazle), for over 40 years Maarten has worked his magic and offered wise advice based on his encyclopaedic knowledge of play, Caia Park and its children.
